Brought to you by the Entomology-Insect Science grad students.
These student-led panel discussions will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 11am – 12:30pm in room S107 of the ENR2 building.

What is a scientist? (11am – 11:30am). Are you curious about what scientists actually do, and how to become one? Ask these young and hip entomologists how they got started, and what being a professional researcher is like.

Those pesky insects (11:30am – noon). We’ll discuss medically relevant arthropods, from venomous spiders to the mosquitos that vector so many human diseases. Learn more about medical entomology and its relevance to the Sonoran Desert region.

Tucson insect diversity (noon – 12:30pm). Tucson is home to an amazing diversity of insect species, many of which emerge after the summer monsoons. See if you can stump our students by asking whatever questions you have about them.
